The Cajun Sniper Hunter

$3,400.00

300 WIN MAG, Remington 700 BDL, McMillan A-5 Tactical Stock, Jewel Trigger (set at 2 lbs), Leupold Mark 4 (4.5x - 14x Mil dot) Scope, Tubb Action Lug. Action face and action lugs trued, bolt lugs trued, lapped bolt lugs, pillar bedded stock, lapped barrel, and first 20 shots of break-in.

DETAILS

Pillar bedding is a glass bedding job (gray color steel bed) with aluminum pillars between the action and the floor plate. It gives nearly 100% support surface at each action bolt. The action lug is almost an interference fit. The goal of a good bedding job is that the action will have the same pre-stress prior to each shot. Another benefit of glass bedding is minor adjustments are made so that the stock and barreled action are in line. The result is that the rifle goes on target like a shotgun.

Triggers: One of most common complaints that I hear about Remington is the unpredictable break force on triggers that are set lighter than factory setting. Don’t blame Remington. They produce an excellent product for the price. They are in the business to make profits from sell rifles. A custom trigger cost over $200. Remington would have to pass that cost to the consumer. Their main market base is not willing to spend the extra money for the accuracy.

The Tubb’s recoil lug adds extra surface area to disperse the recoil force to the stock. It is also thicker than the standard recoil lug to resist flexing.

If you are wondering why you should lapp a new barrel. The picture below is the grime that I pulled out of a “off the shelf” rifle..

Why does the rifle cost so much? Just look at the cost for the parts.
