As real as it gets
Civilian my (freaking butt). The author has special OP's written all over him. There is no way this guy could know this (stuff) unless he lived it. I mean the pain you put aside, the thought processes, the (freaking) heat in a ghillie suit during the summer, when your body is running on fumes and your actions are automatic because of years of training, “No man is bigger than the mission” is all real (stuff)! I felt like I was there with him doing the (stuff) myself. It’s a great book. Anyone that wants to know what it is really like, read it. If you like (BS), read something else.

I appreciate your vote of confidence, but I’m still only a civilian. WDT
Sorry Mike. I was recently (10/19) asked to clean the language up a little more than we agreed to on the first posting.

Intrigue and Action
WOW!!!!!! I read almost the whole book in one sitting, I just didn't want to put the book down...... The details and visuals of Southeast Louisiana that the author imparts are absolutely amazing. The characters are full and interesting and there was just the right mix of action, suspense and romance. I had two favorite authors that were tied for first place in my mind, they were Laurence Sanders and John Grisham. They have now become tied as my second favorite authors. WAYNE TALLEY HAS TAKEN THE HONORS!!!! This new author is a 'must read' for men and women alike. I'm just waiting for the next book.

Once you learn to pronounce the Cajun names, the book rolls on - non-stop! Wayne has written a novel that any long- range shooter will enjoy. The technical aspects will be recognized as fact and none of this “expert” crap we see in other books but down in the dirt nitty gritty like it is! Read the book!

Movie Material
The author weaves a believable tale of corruption, tragedy and love...all set in the netherworld of mob violence and its consequences. The story flows like a bayou after a torrential rain and sweeps the reader from bank to bank without submerging him. The story doesn't lose you and at the same time it keeps you guessing as to what will develop next. A great cast of characters is brought to life by vivid yet succint descriptions that draw the reader into the story.

The Cajun Sniper Hits its Mark, June 19, 2004 Action packed, and suspenseful, with real world settings make the book movie material.
Very well done -- kept my interest throughout the read. Especially enjoyed the detail work put into the sniper setups and character descriptions.
The book has more twists and turns than an autocross course but the flow of action was described in a way that I didn't get lost.[...]Read the first chapter and you are hooked!!

A Captivating Story
The story line captivated my attention and was very enjoyable. The writer obviously researched his technical background for the characters and their equipment. Once I began to read the book it became hard to put away until I finished.

Cajun Sniper hits its target!
You do not need to be a gun buff to enjoy this book. I personally don't know much about guns at all. The story was thought out well and written well. The story line really flowed smoothly. Once I started to read the book, it was hard to put down. I finished the book in a couple of days. The characters were well developed and you either liked them or hated them. My favorite parts of the book was when Jacques planned his shots. I enjoyed the detail that was involved in the planning of his shots, the location, escape routes, etc. I'm waiting for a sequel.

Also recommended: Rainbow Six, Hunt for Red October (any Clancy novel that has Jack Ryan), Bourne Identity, Roses are Red, Violets are Blue

Good reading, June 1, 2004 One of the things that I enjoyed about "The Cajun Sniper" is its descriptive nature. The writer definitely takes you there, describing in detail the surroundings and taking you inside the characters' minds as the action occurs. While some books overload you with descriptive information, this book presents a clear mental image of the action, allowing you to travel to the places, go inside the characters minds and get a taste of Cajun culture.

I loved The Cajun Sniper. It was a good story, good reading, hard to put it down, and VERY good writing! I would love to go there and live! Lagniappe is a new word to me. I like the long range shooting section better than the story. It has very good TECHNICAL INFORMATION! I have been shooting matches for thirty years. One year, I shot 26,000 rounds at cup match's, 10,000 at bowling pins, and 3,000 at three-gun match's. I was a NRA pistol instructor for a long time, and I learned a great deal from the technical section.

P.S. Start the next book soon.

I highly recommend The Cajun Sniper to anyone that loves a great story. I felt like I was a participant instead of a reader. I really got into the story because I could feel what the characters were feeling. In one part, I was sad. In another, I was in a fit of rage. In one part, I felt exhausted. The other thing I liked about your story was its fast pace. I started reading the day it came in and couldn’t put it down. Since I’m a Louisiana duck hunter, I didn’t have much use for your Lagniappe section, but I read it anyway. It is clear and to the point. If I ever decide to buy a rifle, I’m going to read it again before I go shopping. I have one other comment: you have too much sniper stuff on your web site. People may get the impression that the book is only for snipers when it is really for everyone.

Sincerely,
DG, Southeast Louisiana
